Hi Drew,
I’m really enjoying Set to Sea. I was wondering about your choice for the panel borders. Why did you choose not to rule them out? Is that how you always do your panels? Or is it specific to this book? Just wondering — I like finding out about the many little decisions that an artist makes.
I do rule out panels sometimes, but I like free-handing them. It gives things a warmer, less mechanical look.A perfectly straight line is just like any other straight line; practically invisible. A squiggly line gives the eye something to hold onto.
